The choir is remarkable and, if you have any interest in church music, they do vespers very well. I have been there twice, and found the view from the train ride up astonishing, although the transit authority do not make it easy to catch the right train out of the Placa de Espanya. I would only do a day trip, unless you are using it as a base for hiking, or to start the pilgrimage to Santiago. The hotel is only adequate and the food did not match the vista-- even so, it was remarkable at night to see the full moon over the monastery grounds and, the next morning, to see the sun rise over the plains from Manresa and Barcelona.
There is a cheaper hostal/small hotel to stay in the village, about 10 minutes on foot from the railway station.
