Mont St Michel Bay Tours?

We'll be at Mont St Michel on June 10 or 11 and the one and only thing my 15 yo really wants to do on this entire trip is walk on the mud and quicksand around Mont St. Michel. I know there are tours that take you out but I'm struggling to find that that's available for those dates, has a guide that speaks English, and isn't more than 2 ot 2.5 hours long. Any suggestions?

It seems to me you"ll need to contact a guide and ask what they can do if a family wants to join a group but doesn't understand any French... did you find any guides who openly offer a walk in English?

I have taken tours that were given in languages I did not speak. Last summer, I took a cave tour in Bulgaria. You piece together a lot of what they are saying..... this is what a lot of people do from other countries all the time.

I wonder ... will the low tides on your days there be low enough to permit walking on the bay? I honestly don't know.

It looks like low tide will be about 12:45 pm, which is perfect. We didn't plan it that way, of course, just got lucky.

Yes -- but will the water level at low tide be low enough? If I''m reading correctly, there will still be water in the bay. I just don't know if it will be enough to prevent going into it.

You will probably need to translate in your browser. Click on languages spoken to find English speaking guides.
With the time you have you cannot do the full crossing.

The problem is your criteria just rules everything possible out. There are some longer, some in French, and what you want but not on your exact dates.

If I were you, you could try emailing the guy who does 3 hrs French/English tours and ask if he'll do a private one for you that is shorter in English.l Of course this may be expensive. He is Stephane Gueno. Courriel means e-mail.

I think Shelemm has the right idea. Take the tour in French if you can't find an English tour. I imagine it's likely that the guide, being in the tourism industry in France, will speak at least a modicum of English. What choice do you really have, given your limitations of date and time.

I'll also add that maybe another family on the same tour might be able to help out your son. He might even meet someone his own age who speaks some English.

The link I posted has a list of English speaking guides, some will do short tours. They cannot do the full walk in the time available.
