Tours from bayeux to Mont St. Michel?

Does anyone know of a good company that runs a 1/2 day from Bayeux to Mont St. Michel?

Why not go on your own. Take the train to Ponterson and right in front of the station take the bus to MSM. Buses are timed to match the trains and the bus ride is 10 minutes. Do yourself a real favor and stay overnight so that you can see it without the hordes of day-trippers and you can see the tide rush back in making the mont an island. It is a fabulous place to spend a night. I did it last July.

By "half-day tour" do you mean leave Bayeux in the morning, visit le Mont St-Michel and be back around noon or 1 pm? That would probably be too difficult for a tour company or anyone to accomplish. It's about 95 km on small, slow roads between Bayeux and le MSM, it takes awhile to park, and it takes a good while to walk into and up the main street. Even if there were such a tour, I think all you'd be able to accomplish would be a walk to the top, a walk down, and a ride back to Bayeux. Maybe a 15-minute break to buy souvenirs. You'd miss the abbey and all the actual sites - wouldn't be worth the trip.

We plan to try and do Mont St. Michel in a 6 to 7 hour time frame (e.g. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m or so. Then we need to go from Mont St. Michel back to Bayeux and then on to Disneyland Paris. The train to Ponterson sounds like a possibility. Thanks for you response and ideas.

In case you're trying to find train schedules on the web for your trip, the correct spelling is Pontorson.
