The easiest way is to drive there. It will be nice and quiet compared to summer, but more crowded than January or February. People do travel around with their families during the school holidays.
Bus service from the train station would probably be extremely limited.

Having sat at the small local train station nearest MSM for hours on a different holiday waiting for the next train, I also recommend either renting a car from Paris or checking for a direct/chartered bus excursion from Paris.
There were numerous buses there for the day. It's too bad to miss the quieter evening experience there but you did want a day trip, and at least it isn't the summer hoards experience. If you go I hope you will report how it went.

We went a few years ago in mid December and took a bus tour from Paris, it was a long day but very nice, we stopped at a Chateau for a lovely breakfast, toured the grounds and castle then drove on to MSM. It was very cold but a great memory and I would highly recommend trying to make the trip if you're interested. It would be nicer with a rental car but we didn't want the hassle for a one day trip and this worked OK for us.
Enjoy your trip and have a wonderful time.
