Monet and Van gogh reprouctions?
Considering a daytrip with touringscope from Paris to Giverny and Auvers sur oise in July.
I would really like to buy a painting that is a reproduction of Monet or Van gogh's paintings for an affordable price, are they in abundance or will I have to go to certain place?
thank you.

You'll have no trouble. Museums in France as here have gift shops with reproductions. In addition gift shops throughout Paris offer them. There is an esepcially large number of shops between the Pompidou Center and Les Halles that specialize in art posters and prints.

Hi
thank you for the responses.
I am not interested in prints of the paintings rather hand painted reproductions.

can I find hand painted reproductions in this area too?

I am really interested to see what answers you get. I received an oil reproduction of a large Cezanne painting as a present; it was purchased somewhere in Provence and it's really quite good (though frankly I would have preferred the original!).
If you don't find what you want in France, you can always check e-bay, as there are hundreds of reproductions being offered, though many of them are just prints on canvas covered with a clear acrylic layer to give 'brushstroke texture".

hi jenviolin
thanx for the link. What I have in mind is an oil reproduction of Monet or Van gogh that features the life in countryside or a natural feature like flowers in the Monet's garden (can't remember the name of the painting)...
The one you linked for me is more of "la vie a la parisienne" right?
