Ann- if you've been over-charged in a pub you should<BR>1] point it out to the bar manager<BR>ALSO<BR>2] you should report the pub to the Director of Consumer affairs. All pubs in Ireland are required by law to post their drink prices up for all the see. If they don't do so, they can be reported and they will face a fine <BR><BR>However, most places are pretty honest..

Interesting, Jo. I guess it's happened to me so often that I never thought of reporting it. It even happened to me at the pub in the village where my husband grew up. We've spent a lot of time there, and the bar staff knows me, but in April when I was there, there was a new barman, who overcharged me. Actually, I've gotten to the point where I just make my husband get all of our rounds, but every so often I have to go to the bar. And he's been in the US long enough where his accent is softening a bit, so sometimes he's mistaken for an American.
