Bea,
The Moat House is the name of a hotel chain and there are several of them in London proper.
One is on Drury Lane, another in Kensington, and one near Sloane Square. All would be fairly near tube stations.

Stayed there in October and had a nice and fairly large room. Only disadvantage is the trafic on Harrington Rd., even at night. So, don't forget your earplugs!
Very good location two steps from South Kensington tube station. Many restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed for a week at the Moat House on Sloane Square last April. It was wonderful. Quiet (even though we had a room with a balcony that looked over Sloane Square) and clean and the breakfast to order in the mornings was excellent. The chain offers great specials via their website. Our room was 75 GBP per night, and I don't think we could have been better located at that price. There is a tube stop across the square, a great little bistro (the Oriel) next to the tube, and you can walk down Kings Road to shop or do a literary "walk" (based on a book of literary walks around London). We walked to some tremendous restaurants, as well.
