Mittenwald lodging

We will be stayng 5 nights in Mittenwald as we explore the area and are looking for suggestions about lodging. We prefer a quiet place close to hiking trails but still within walking distance to the town. I looked at Mittenwald's website with its listing of hotels and guesthouses but none stood out from the rest. Any ideas or experiences you would be willing to share?
Thanks

If you stay anywhere 'in town' you'll be within walking distance of lots of good hiking trails.

In preparation for our coming holiday in this area I've purchased two pocket-sized books from FindALocalBook.com - "Walking in the Bavarian Alps" and "Around the Zugspitze: A Rother Walking Guide".

We have stayed at two B&B's in Mittenwald - and both are really nice (not overly fancy - but nice places with friendly owners). Hotel Sonnenhof is lower on the hill - and Haus Ilse is about halfway up the hill (thus making your starting hike less strenuous!!!).
