Mirabelle Restaurant or an alternative nearby in Rome?
Looking for a nice place for my husband and I to dine alone in the Borghese/Via Veneto area. We're staying at the Splendide and heard Mirabelle has a Michelin star. It would be really great to find a wonderful place with nice ambiance but no jacket/tie required- -space is at a premium in our luggage. Thanks!

First let me say that I am not familiar with that restaurant. What do you mean by "nice ambiance?' In general, I would not patronize Michelin-rated places in Rome (I don't think the guide is the resource in Italy that it is in France)..there are so many great local trattorias with wonderful ambience..
Are you willing to walk or take a taxi or bus?

Thanks to both of you. I know now that a jacket is required at Mirabelle, and that it's just wonderful. Can't decide whether to take the jacket or look for a nice enough place that doesn't require one. Really we could go anywhere in Rome- -just great Italian food and as for the ambiance, the answer is, DARK with candle light, maybe a great view as Mirabelle has. Thanks for any suggestions!
