Milan Hotels: Please help!

My fiancee and I will be wrapping up a three-week tour through Italy in Milan in September. We're only staying for day, but we'd like to end on a high note. We're on a budget, and finding a nice, well-designed, well-located, well-priced hotel (under $325)is remarkably difficult.

Hotel Spadari al Duomo is booked and Antica Locanda dei Mercanti has gotten too many mixed reviews. Can anyone tell me more about UNA Hotel Tocq? How about Hotel Cavour? Any recommendations?

Any and all advice is much appreciated.

My wife and I stayed at the Sheraton Diana Majestic Hotel. It is across the street from a metro station and two stops from the Duomo. The bar is fantastic, the food to die for, and the rooms very nice. Several famous people were there during our visit. Highly recommended.

I believe it is listed at the web site:

Another vote for the Sheraton Diana Majestic. I should think you'd be able to find a room there in your price range; I know I have seen rooms for that hotel advertised for well under $300 from time to time. I would try there first, checking on the hotel's web site, then trying a few discount hotel web sites (but not Priceline).
For an upcoming trip, I will be staying in the Jolly Hotel President. Not as nice as the Sheraton Diana Majestic, but still a good hotel and rooms about 200 euros per night.

Another vote for the Diana. The bar is a happening spot in Milano, and the have a really nice open air garden that fills up with the trendy and cool people of the city when the weather is warm. You'll feel apart of the city, not an outsider.
I'd go there.

We ended a trip to Italy with one day in Milan and stayed at the Hotel de la Ville. A beutiful hotel right in the historic heart of the city and a short walk to all the sites. It was excellent and also included a very nice breakfast.

We stayed at Antica Locanda dei Mercanti in 2002 and absolutely loved it...I saw some of the other reviews about lost reservations, which we luckily did not experience, so I can't comment on that. We had great, friendly service, and found our room to be luxurious for the price and as compared to other European hotels. The rooms were beautiful and had fresh flowers when we arrived, the beds were comfortable, the towels were fluffy, and the water was hot! Plus the location was great. I'd still recommend it.

I was thinking of the Milan Hilton for convenience. I am not a US Hotel chain groupie, but sometimes find the US chains bring out the best in the locals and of course provide my much wanted large bed ! Any votes for or advice on the Hilton ? thanks
