Milan hotel - close to train station
Please advise:
We are arriving in Milan at noon on Dec 29 (Sunday), will stay one night, do sightseeing before we leave on the evening train to Florence.
We are looking for a hotel close to the station (preferably under 130 Euros) and/or sights (Duomo, etc). This way we can maximize our time on seeing the sights.
Your help will be much appreciated!

We stayed at the Bristol three years ago and would recommend it. It's around the corner from the station. I don't remember what we paid. Here's its email address" [email protected]

We recently were in Milan at the Le Meridien Excelsior Gallia. Their weekend special rate then was EUR130 (although weekdays can be over EUR200). Please note that they didn't lower it EUR130 until 3 days before, so you might need to watch the Internet site from time to time.
Lovely 5 star hotel right next to the train station, perfect for a one night.

Consider that the Centrale station is but 5 subway stops from the Duomo (less than 10 minutes). you do not actually need to stay in the quite depressing area of the city near it, look for a nice hotel placed anywhere near a subway station and you will be fine. Trains run since 6,30 AM until midnight and they are perfectly safe (at least the station in central Milano) until midnight.
