Milan "duty free" question?

Hello, Is anyone familiar with "duty free" in Milan's airport. I am hoping they have good selections there. I always need to pick up a couple of last minute items to bring home. Also does anyone know if the prices and selections for wines/olive oils would be competitive with prices around Italy..Thanks for any and all info.
Happy Travels,
Gary

Yes, Gary, you will have a pretty good selection. I believe the prices are a little higher, but you won't have to lug them around with you until the very end!

I am with Howard. You will spend more in the duty free shop than a local shop including the equivelant customs duty. Depends on long you want to drag around a bottle of wine.

Thanks to both for the info. I guess my biggest concern is will I find the selections of wine that I want? I would really like to bring back several bottles of Brunello di Montalcino. Also some really good olive oils..some dry porcinni mushrooms..etc...

If I remember correctly, the duty free shop's assortments of wine and olive oil were fairly good, but I not sure if you'll find exactly what you want as far as the wine goes.

What time will you be flying out? My flight out of Malpensa last year was early and none of the duty free shops were open yet (around 8 a.m.).

I fly out of Milan at 10:10 a.m. I was on the web-site to the new airport and it "says" they open at 6:30. I will have plenty of time anyway. I am thinking I will buy my special bottles of wine while touring Italy instead of chancing the duty free choices..
