Milan airport to Milan train station?
Hello,
I'm planning to fly from home to Florence, by way of Milan on September 1. The airline is alitalia, and their flight attendants are set to strike on August 30 and 31. I'm hoping that those dates stay firm and therefore that it won't affect me, but being the overly-prepared person I am, I'm researching train schedules in case I get stranded in Milan.
Can anyone tell me how I'd get from Milan Malpensa to the Milan train station? Is there more than one train station in Milan?
Thanks much for any help,
Heidi

Thanks much for the help, everyone. I've got fingers crossed that I don't run into trouble, but it's good to have the information just in case.
And thanks for the kind thoughts, loveitaly. After we visit Florence for a few days, we're biking through Tuscany, and I couldn't be more happy at the thought. Dodici giorni 'til I leave!

People have been so helpful here that I'll definitely do my best to post a report when I get back.
I've already written out labels so I can send myself a postcard every day. I've done this on previous trips, and it's great -- you come home to a collection of gorgeous pictures of your trip, plus scribbled notes about what you did that day. And best of all, the notes were scribbled when you were in giddy mode in the middle of enjoying the trip!

Hi travelphile, I am sooo bad about keeping a journal, although I always take one with me. I too love your idea Heide, especially since I love postcards. I have a large collection of them. I buy them and bring them home with me. I never thought about writing each day's trip report on them and mailing them to myself. Thank you!!! What a great idea.
