Milan Airport-storage lockers

I am flying into Milan to start a semester of school in Florence with a large suitcase that I want to store while I backpack. Has anyone used a storage unit at this airport.
Thankyou
Brie

Wouldn't that be a little pricey? I thought storage lockers were banned in all airports.

With my luck you are probably right. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks again

At Rome's FCO Airport the manned left luggage was closed post 9-11 but reopened around the end of last year when an x-ray machine was installed.
Most likely the left luggage at Milan's MXP has reopened. Regards, Walter

OK everyone says to use storage at the train station. Has anyone done this for a few weeks?
Thanks Brie

I think when you return, you'll find your locker has been opened by security. I'm don't think you can keep a locker occupied for "weeks".

All self-service lockers in Italy have been closed and some have been removed since 9-11.
I don't know if there is a time limit on the manned left luggage (Deposito Bagagli) though?
I do know that at FCO airport it was 3.5e/day. My 2003 guidebook says that at MXP airport it's 2e/day but that is probably out of date info. It says the Milan Centrale train station is 2.58e/12hrs.
Also try posting on the Lonely Planet "Thorn Tree", alot of backpackers & students post there. Someone posted a similar problem in Paris and someone mentioned a storage facility would rent a 1 sq/m area by the month IIRC . Also try posting on rec.travel.europe if your ISP doesn't carry it you can access & post thru google.com [Groups] Regards, Walter
