Milan Airport - 45 minutes to change planes enough time?
I am trying to book a trip to Europe for May/June 2007. I found some decent fares flying from New York to Rome, and then home from Paris to New York.
On the way home, the flight would be from Paris to New York with a stop over in Milan. The only problem is that Alitalia is only scheduling a 45 minute layover in Milan to change flights. I have no idea what the airport in Milan is like. Assuming the flight from Paris to Milan is on time, is 45 minutes enough time to change flights?
I assume they wouldn't schedule it if it wasn't possible, but I thought I'd check to be sure.
Thanks for your help!

"I assume they wouldn't schedule it if it wasn't possible" -Unfortunately I don't think that's exactly true. I would never schedule that short a connection anywhere, any airport.
"Assuming the flight from Paris to Milan is on time" is kind of a big assumption imo.

KatieL, I haven't flown Alitalia in quite awhile but I must say I use to always fly them and not once were their flights on time. The joke use to be Alitalia = Always late in time and late in arrival. Or something like that, lol.

Malpensa is not a big airport, but 45min would be REALLY tight. You'll transfer from Terminal 1A to 1B, and boarding usually closes 20min before the departure time. Alitalia is prone to delay. Even if you're lucky enough to make the flight, your luggage may not.
LoveItaly, likeed the acronym for Alitalia. It's so true. Reminded me of Sabena--such a bad experience, never again--and look what happened to them.
