Mercure Raspail - any knowledge?

Message: http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhote...he_hotel.shtml

Mercure Raspail
126 Rue du Cherche Midi
75006 PARIS
FRANCE

This has a rate of 85 Euros per night for my dates. It looks good. It says it has air conditioning in the rooms. Does anyone know anything about it? There's nothing on TripAdvisor. It's small - with only 25 rooms.

I made a mistake there - it has 63 rooms.

I took a look at the outside pictures and the room pictures. It looks like the rooms have balconies. These would be nice to keep open at night - *EXCEPT* for the rather major safety factor.

I asked about A/C in an email to the hotel and got this response:
[snip]
We have the pleasure of confirming you that we do have air conditionning in
every room, individual system in each room.
=======

Would an "individual" system be adequate? (I guess I did not mention in this particular thread that my stay would be July 11-18.)

At any rate, I have made a cancellable reservation at this hotel at the rate of 85 Euros per night.

Hello WillTravel,
I live just near this hotel and it's a good hotel, located in a good and safe area (near Montparnasse station, in the 14th district). It's clean and not expensive.
The fact that you have an individual system concerning air-conditionned is a good thing.
There are restaurants, cinemas and a metro station near the hotel.

The link and address you provided belong to Libertel Montparnasse (which has 25 rooms).

The Mercure Raspail is at 207 blvd Raspail.

So which one is 85 Euro with A/C? . . .

Thanks for checking on that TravelNut - I checked my email and I had reserved for the Mercure Raspail. But that could have been a disaster! I was looking at many different sites.

Mercure Raspail says it is at:
207, boulevard Raspail
75014 PARIS
FRANCE

and the URL is:
http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhote...he_hotel.shtml

I do have the rate of 85 Euros for it.

There aren't any reviews for this hotel on TripAdvisor, but there are reviews for a different hotel located at 203. Those reviews said the area was very convenient. In addition, MorganB and jpie and I think Christina have said the area is good. I've also used the tool at http://www.pagesjaunes.fr to explore various neighborhoods and this one looks good.

So for now, this is what I have reserved.

I ended up winning the Le Meridien Montparnasse on Priceline, so I cancelled this one after all. I might walk by when in Paris, though.

Congrats on your Priceline bid Will for the Le Meridian. What price did you get?

Found your other post Will and saw the price you got. Not bad at all, especially considering the weak dollar right now. Have a nice trip!
