Meeting Place
Hi Everyone,
I am going to Munich a week before my husband arrives and will be meeting him at the Munich Airport.
Since we have never been there, do you have any suggestions as to where would could meet up in the airport? We won't have cell phones and we don't want to miss one another in such a large airport.
Thanks a lot.

Hi kipper...welcome to Fodor's!
You'll probably get more responses if you include "Munich airport" in the title of your post. I would suggest reposting--
I'm sure many folks will have a good idea---you could also try posting in the airlines forum.

Arriving passengers can only leave through one exit after baggage claim in each concourse of terminal 1, and through one exit for all flights arriving at terminal 2.
So all you need to know is his flight number and arrival time.
For a worst case scenario, you can opt for the Burger King (there is only one in the airport) in the central covered outdoor plaza between terminals 1 and 2.

Additionally, if you are going into Munich by S-Bahn, you could arrange to meet by the station. There are two sets of escalators/stairs from Terminal 1 to the middle of the platform, which is between the tracks. There is also an escalator/stairs at the Terminal 2 end of the platform. You are probably arriving at Terminal 2. Why not arrange to meet at the top of the stairs.

There are two terminals at MUC, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Between them is a Central Area, the Munich Airport Center (MAC). It has the DB ticket counter, a post office, the entrance to the S-Bahn station, etc. At the west end, next to Terminal 2, there is a designated meeting point (see http://www.munich-airport.de/en/cons..._MAC/index.jsp). It wouldn't necessarily be my choice, but because it is "designated", airport workers might know where it is and be able to point you to it.

We need to meet up with my in-laws at MUC. They're arriving on a Lufthansa flight from the US at T2 and we're arriving on a Lufthansa intra-Schengen flight at T2. It sounds like it would be difficult to miss each other, but my in-laws are very infrequent travelers and I need to make this as easy as possible. They'll be arriving before us. On the Munich airport site, I found a Starbucks at T2 Arrivals http://www.munich-airport.de/en/cons...ucks/index.jsp
Would this be an easy place to locate after they pick up their bags? I really don't want them wandering out of T2 if possible. Thanks!
