Medical Cannabis in France
My wife has bad feet, and she just obtained Herbal Mountain Cannabis Pain Relief Therapy skin cream from a Cannabis dispenser. It seems to provide some pain relief. We depart for 3 weeks in Paris on Sept 14. If the France "authorities" discover that she has this - will there be any problems for us?? I realize that we can put it into a different container to make it appear just like normal Nivea hand cream - but I would like to understand the laws about medical cannabis also, in case a dog sniffs this out in customs.

I thought that sniffer dogs were only at customs check, not leaving the country.

In sight - checked bags could well be sniffed at - my last trip to Europe several years ago I had some carrots in my carry-on and in Customs before clearing I decided to eat the last one instead of throw it out - knowing no fruits of veg were allowed in - and a guy and a sniffer dog came up to me and plopped his head on my carry-on bag which was on the floor and did not move - guy asks me about fruit and veg and I explained i had some and was eating the last - but dog still smelled it in the bag -I had to have all stuff put thru sniffing machines - you never know. But doubt if dogs would sniff out cream in tube anyway but why bring back unless terribly expensive and just take what you'll use?

We've seen them within the last 2 years. I'm sure Jeff Sessions has increased the sniffing dog patrol for his favorite airport!!!! I read in the Noe Valley Voice that his boss received 4% of the vote in the Noe Valley. Same % in the Castro.

I have very bad feet problems. Started to work at 16 and continued to work on concrete floors until I was 73 1/2. My friend who is a florist also told me about TeiFu lotion and oil. It really helps. I bought it on Amazon. Not expensive and I put the oil on at night. Best my feet have felt in years.
I also went to a pharmacy and told them my problem and they sold me a tube of cream that numbed my feet, it helped. The French pharmacy is a wonderful place.

This is a very topical issue in the UK.
A mother recently had a very public episode with her son’s cannabis based oil whilst passing through customs into the UK.
Any cannabis based substance isn’t legal here but licences for therapeutic use can be issued in rare cases. In the case of Charlotte Caldwell, her son suffer from severe epilepsy and the oil appeared to counter attacks. A short time licence was issued as this was deemed a life threatening situation.
i really wouldn’t suggest taking any cannabis based substance through any EU customs control, with or without a US prescription or paperwork to legitimise it’s possession. Unless the medical condition is life threatening it’s just not worth the potential consequences.
