We are leaving on the 30th of April for a week in Cortona where we will be meeting up with some alumni from Fordham Univ. Then we have a few days alone in Rome. Our first trip to Europe was to Italy 19 years ago. Although we have been back to the country a few times since, this will be the first time back to Rome. I guess throwing a coin in the Trevi Fountain is true! It assures a return trip. Nothing short of a state warning would keep us away!!! Safe travels to everyone.

Leaving for Italy with four other couples on May 13, 6 nights in the Tuscan countryside, then train to Venice, ah Venice, for 4 nights. How can we arrange for Fodorites to recognize one another?? Any ideas?? Garynfla, just figured out that we will be in Venice on Friday the 23rd as you will be.

PeggyAnn, There are a total of 7 people I know that will be there the same time. Most are from the AOL boards. Perhaps we could do a "meet & greet" before dinner. One idea is to all meet on the Rialto Bridge and have a cup of coffee, glass of wine etc.. I did alot of research on a cruise last year and we wound up having around 60 members of Cruisce-critics Boards meet prior to setting sail. We had a blast and made a few friends that we still keep in touch with. Maybe I'll create a new Topic meet in Venice in May..

Will be in Rome on 14th May for 2 nights, Venice 1 night, Florence 3 nights (with one day trip planned for Siena), Cinque Terre 1 night and back to Rome on the last night (! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find 1 night accomodation in Venice!! Can someone help? I'm screwed if I still can't find a place to stay on 17th May. What are my alternatives?

Hi..this is probably not too relevant (and a little late - my apologies!) but I wanna thank GARYNFLA and LuluG for their response to my earlier post about accomodation in Venice. I have a smaller budget than what you've recommended but managed to get a room at a 3rd hotel after that...thanks nevertheless!

We are leaving from sunny (but raining now) Southern California for ten days in Paris in about 18 hours.

This will be our twelfth trip but we are as excited as though it were our first.
