Maxjet lounge in London -- hours?

I'm trying to book MaxJet to get to Turkey this July. I arrive into STN at 7 am leaving me plenty of time to connect but the return flight from STN departs at 10 am.

On my return home, I'll arrive at LHR at 10:10 pm -- do you think I should sleep at LHR then hop on a train to STN in the morning? I'm only bothering to do this because this is actually cheaper than any coach flight to Turkey... Anyone have any idea of cheap hotels for STN? When will the Maxjet lounge at STN open in the morning?

There really aren't many places to stay near STN - some B&Bs and small hotels in Bishop's Stortford, a couple of motel-y places near the airport but not on any buslines etc. I would stay at a hotel near LHR (use Priceline) that night then HEX/tube into London in the morning and then the Stansted train from there.

Probably a phone call to Maxjet will answer your lounge hour question.

I'd go to a hotel near Stansted the night before your 10 AM flight out, or possibly one near Liverpool Street Station (probably in the City zone on Priceline). I'd feel much better knowing all transport issues were more or less taken care of. There's a Days Inn Stansted, and I think some other major chains.

Thanks for the tips -- hotels around STN are quite expensive. I'll try to find a hotel easily accesible to the Liverpool Street Station where I can grab the Stanstead Express. (Does that sound right?)

I'll post any convenient budget hotels I find for all the other Maxjet travelers on a budget...

Sorry - I misread the STN departure time.

Agree about staying in the city and then an early morning train to STN.

I emailed Maxjet and the lounge at STD opens 4 hours to departure -- so around 6 am.
