Marylebone Hotels

My husband and I will be visiting London for a weekend in November for a wedding. The wedding is near St John's Wood. We've booked into Montagu Place (www.montagu-place.co.uk) which got a good write-up in the Times recently, for 2 nights, however they cannot fit us in for the first night of our weekend. Has anyone got any suggestions for another hotel nearby for one night - a similar price range (approx £150 per night for a double) would be ideal. Thanks.

The Sherlock Holmes on Baker Street and The Dorset Square in (surprise surprise Dorset Square) are both nearby and worth considering.

Thank you! Dorset Square looks fab but a bit over our budget. The Sherlock Holmes looks perfect though.

Landmark next to Marylebone mainline station is nice 5-star, but probably above the budget.

Similarly close to SJW, you can try Colonnade in Maida Vale. Smaller, 4-star, more of a luxury B&B. We've put our relatives and friends there.

There is another hotel in SJW which used to be Ramada. Now under new management--can't recall the name. The location would suit, but not sure if the rooms have been renovated.

Do you really think it worth going thru the bother of moving for just one night if the first night is satisfactory?

I agree w/ bigal. If you find a nice hotel w/i your budget for the first night - I'd stay there all 3 nights.

W9,
The Ramada is now a Travelodge. Gets pretty average reviews.
I'm old fashioned but to me a booking means that it should be honoured hence the need to find somewhere else.

yes, I agree with adamhornets - I have booked the two nights at Montagu Place. Changing hotels shouldn't take that long anyway - we will only have small weekend cases and the Sherlock Holmes is only 5 minutes walk away. Thanks for all the great suggestions.
