Marseille Train station - lockers?
Hi, I see an old response on this question - but now the Marseille station online info does not show baggage handling. Are there lockers at the Marseille train station? Also, what is the best way to get to the boat to Chateau D'if rom the station? And the best way to get to the airport from town?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Hi there,
Current information says that there are lockers at Marseille St. Charles. So that's a cert although I am not sure how much they cost, whether they are manned and what the hours are. Last time I checked it was about €3.50 upward to leave luggage, and is open from 8am until 11pm.
You could take a taxi from the station to the port, but I'd personally just walk, Google maps estimates it will take about 20 minutes: http://g.co/maps/5pdsf
The airport - Marseille Provence (or Aéroport Marseille-Marignane as it's sometimes called) is about 30km outside of the town. To get there from Marseille St. Charles, you take a train to Vitrolles Aeroport Marseille. Then show your ticket to board a shuttle bus between Vitrolles and the airport terminal. In total the journey time is 30-35mins

Hope that helps!

You don't have to take the train to get to the airport, there are airport buses that go that route all the time (between MRS and gare St Charles), about every 20-30 min. That way you don't have to do that transfer, and the time is about the same for the journey (about 30 min). The bus costs 8 euro one-way, but is cheaper if you buy a roundtrip ticket, see http://www.mrsairport.com/eng/acces/acces_bus.jsp

I don't know where you are seeing there are no lockers, the station's webpage says there are on quai A, and that they are automatic:
<< Bagages
Consignes automatiques
Téléphone : 04 95 04 14 91
Complément d'accès : Situé sur le Quai A
du lundi au dimanche de 08:15 à 21:00
jours fériés de 08:15 à 21:00>>
