I am trying to find a map of the neighborhood around the Train Station Victor Hugo - I need to get to a small street called Avenue Bugeaud - actually it is a restaurant at #16.

Have you tried Google maps?

You could try searching for the address of the restaurant at www.mappy.fr - choose the option "Transports en commun" to show the nearest metro station.

If you google 'avenue bugeaud restaurant' a google map with the location of 3 restos (including the one you mention) comes up. You can click on the map and zoom in and out as you wish using the 'gizmo' on the upper left.

You can also use google directions and map your route from your hotel (?) to the resto. Paris also has an interactive metro site where you can do the same thing.
