Mandarin Oriental Prague: Room Options
The other day when The Kempinski Hybernska offered up a Grand Deluxe Room with breakfast for less than 200- Euros a night during High Season, I thought I couldn't be happier.
Well, I am...
I received an offer yesterday from the Mandarin Oriental. They proposed a Superior Room with a confirmed upgrade to a Deluxe Room (including breakfast) for a rate that I really can't refuse.
I know it is an outstanding property. My only concern is that the Deluxe Room will feel too cramped for an extended stay.
I'm wondering if I should contact them about a paid upgrade to a slightly larger room or just leave it alone and see what I end up with.
Has anyone actually seen or stayed in one of their Deluxe Rooms?
Thanks!

hi flyer,
I've just had a look at their respective websites, and the delux room at the Mandarin is 38 sqm, as opposed to the 44sqm of the grand lux room at the Kempinski.
of couse a lot depends on the layout - those 6sqms may make a lot of difference or none at all.

Might be worth while contacting them and seeing what they will offer the delux rooms for.The Hotels in Prague are finding things tough with a sever lack of visitors ,especially the higher end hotels and are desparate for any buisness.
Let them know you have other irons in the fire.

I gather the biggest difference in the rooms is that the MO Deluxe Rooms are open plan. At the K, the Grand Deluxe is more of a Jr. Suite with a separate bedroom and seating area.
I also gather that the rooms vary greatly within a category at the MO. I decided to phone the reservations department and, as graciously and humbly as possible, voice my concern about room size and comfort in the hope that they will assign me a better room within the category.
