Malpensa airport Hotels

Need recomendation for overnight hotel near the Malpensa Hotel. In the past I have stayed at the Villa Malpensa but they do not offer a 5:00am airport car service. Found on line the First Hotel which does offer a service that early. Has anyone stayed there? Or do you have any other recommendations....Thanks for the help

We stayed at First Hotel about 6 weeks ago before our early am flight out of Milan. It is a nice, sleek, modern hotel with good size rooms and bathrooms. It has an onsite restaurant for breakfast and dinner. They serve dinner fairly late which was helpful for us as we arrived about 9:30pm not having had dinner yet. I think breakfast started about 6:30am which we had to miss as we had to leave earlier. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we needed a place near the airport.

Just be sure you call and reserve the airport shuttle maybe a day or two before you arrive. They can only take 8 people in it and you need to have reserved your time. When we got there it was already booked up for the earliest departure, so we took the 5:30am, no problem for our flight, but if you really need the 5:00am I would reserve a bit in advance.

First Hotel Malpensa, is, IMO, excellent. Great price, great service, nice and clean, modern, comfortable. I don't hesitate to recommend it, and actually do, all the time. If you reserve on their website, general wisdom is that the prices are to be had there.

We, too, stayed at First Hotel because our flight was so early. We, like the other poster, arrived late and had, surprisingly, a delicious dinner. While the hotel is in a strange area (not really commercial), I wouldn't hesitate to stay there, again. Price was reasonable. Shuttle was full at about 4:30 a.m. Happy travels!

We were very pleased with our stay at Cardano Hotel in April.

The shuttle service was excellent, and begins at 5 a.m.

The rooms were large, modern, and with wonderful air conditioning--yes, we needed it in April!

Ditto about the First Hotel. We ate in the little restaurant catty corner from the Hotel and had a good meal there, I forgot the name, but it was filled with locals.

We have stayed at the Villa Malpensa and also have had an early airport check-in (6:00 a.m. on one occasion). The hotel arranged a cab for us the night before, it was on time, and we were at the airport in less than 10 minutes. The hotel reception desk was manned at that hour (perhaps 24 hour coverage?), so I had no cause for worry. The breakfast service, however, does not begin until later (6:30 or 7?).

I can also recommend the hotel itself as well as its restaurant, but there are more economical choices near Malpensa if budget is a concern.

Another vote for Hotel Cardano. It has been recently renovated and has large updated bathrooms and our room had a new king size mattress. Very quiet with a friendly and helpful staff. Free shuttle also.

Thanks for the suggestions. We do really like the Villa Malpensa and have used them in the past but now I know there are other recommended hotels. Fodorites are the best.
