Malaga Spain To Monte Carlo

My husband and I are traveling with another couple to Malaga Spain in January, our friends want to visit Monte Carlo while we are there. I am looking for airfare from AGP to MCM airports and can't find anything for either one way or for RT? Can you help us?

Montecarlo is too far away from Malaga You will have to go through Madrid or Barcelona to Nice.

You can do it, but one wonders why. It's more of an expedition then a quick side trip to go from Malaga to Monte Carlo. Lufthansa has a flight that takes a bit over 8 hours, includes stops in Barcelona and Nice, and a helicopter ride, and will only set you back about $2500 each for the round-trip.

It would probbaly be easier (and cheaper) to fly JFK-Nice (Delta direct flight) and then a short car/train ride to Monte Carlo, than trying to fit Malaga-Monte Carlo in January. Either way, this is meant to be a weekend trip, right?

Out of curiosity I checked Iberia. They do have flights from Malaga to Nice so I plugged in January 12 with a return on the 16th. The cheapest fare was 497 euros. Now with some research I am sure you could find cheaper flights to Barcelona and then on to Nice but..
I have not checked train fares so that may be a possibility. I just don't think a trip of that magnitude should be done as a side trip from Malaga.

Train fares ? That would be foolish..not only because the price, but the distance. It won't be less than 24 hours travelling (with transfers)....

I know the train would take a long time but I did not read in the initial request that it was only for a weekend. All that was said was that they would be in Malaga in January and their friends wanted to visit Monte Carlo. For all I know time and price may pose no objects.

Yes, you're right Raydotman. I supposed they want a short trip because they wrote "visit MonteCarlo while we are there". That "while" made me think they want something like a side trip

I have flown from Málaga to Monte Carlo , but it was a private flight. Sometimes there are charters availalbe (especially if there is something big going on in Marbella, as people do weekends), but if not, you will want Málaga to Nice, and it will be around 500€ per person.

There are at least two casinos in Malaga; at Hotel Torrequebrada (located in the city of Torrequebrada) and at Hotel Andalucia Plaza (located in Puerto Banus). The winter hours are limited, but there are certainly casino options in Andalucia.
