The photos are wonderful…. and I'm glad to hear the Colbert redeemed itself. I'd always wanted to return there but was put off by reviews… the prices would probably have precluded it anyway. (Tho our last two stays in Paris were at the Pont Royal…. go figure.)
You have no idea how much cheer you bring to grim NYC… I was almost half way thru a bottle of Malbec but now need no more liquid cheer! (Well…. maybe another glass with dessert…)

Enjoying this very much. Glad you made it to Parc Monceau, which is so pretty. Every time I've been there (well, that would be just two times) there have been tons of people lounging around, so it might not be solely the Tuesday phenomenon.
That soup at Les Papailles looks delicious!

Thank you to Tracy and yourself for returning to Paris so you can enrich so many of our lives yet again with your trip report and pictures. Wonderful to live your trip through words and as is said, every picture tells a story.
Much anticipated and worth the wait.
Thank you!

Fabulous! How great to be wake up and read this on a dreary, snowy morning!
I might even add that it is wonderful to be able to read this as 'A Winter's Tale' and that 'Love's Labours' are most definitely NOT Lost!
Looking forward to more! You've got me eagerly awaiting the next chapter with those titillating titles!

You're on a roll with Day 2. My morning coffee was brightened up with more tales of lovely Paris
"Our new found friend"------It always amazes me how many French people will actually help you out on the street. Those stories of rude Parisians just don't hold up. Well, maybe an occainsonal rude clerk or cabbie, but you run into people unhappy with their jobs in any city.

Loving your trip report. It is especially interesting to me as we were in Paris for two weeks at exactly the same time you were there and did many of the same things you have talked about so far.

Loving your report and the pics on your blog are beautiful. I haven't been back to Paris since 2008 and I'm waaaay overdue. Waiting with anticipation for day three! Thanks for taking the time to write (and hoping you vertigo has cleared up).

Thanks all. What I find unbelievable about these trips is how much we're able to fit in to a day. It seems like the days last forever on vacation.
Yes, Les Papilles was very good and a fun experience, yet it would only garner the "show" position in our restaurants visited.
Thanks again for the nice comments.

lovely pics again, Tom.
We too went to St Denis before a February rugby match - it was perishing. They seem to have forgotten to put the glass in some of the windows [not the pretty ones in your photos] which made it a tad draughty.
