Madrid hotel help
I am going to be in Madrid to hook up with a tour but want to book one special night for myself in Madrid. Hotels under consideration are:
Gran Hotel Canarias
Villa Real
Carlos V
H10Villa de la Reina (thanks Maribel)
I want to be centrally located since my hotel on the tour won't be and is out near the soccer stadium (Holiday Inn with a Globus tour)!
Pros/cons, suggestions? Thanks---

I am booked at Palacio San Martin. Though I have not stayed there myself, all reviews are positive. It is very centrally located, yet on a quite square. Rates around 115 Euro. You can check it out at:

By the way, the soccer stadium is not "out". It's in the newest part of the city but it's still central
There's a El Corte Ingles department store just next to the Holiday Inn and the metro stop is in front of the stadium.

We stayed at the Hotel Gran Canarias during the first week of May. We chose it based on Maribel's guides and we were not disappointed. They supply plush bathrobes, slippers, and turndown service. It was also a very quiet room. I thought it was a real bargain at around 130 euros a night including a wonderful breakfast.
I booked it through destinia.com. It is right next door to the Palace Hotel and the main museums, and Atocha station is just a short walk away. Plaza Mayor and Sol were also an easy walk.
We also went to the area by the stadium and it is nice. I was a reluctant companion initially on a tour of the stadium, but found that I really enjoyed the tour.

Thanks all, and really appreciated hearing the stadium area was not a bad location! Although I do like the Westin, its reviews and a good rate I can get, I tend to like smaller hotels. I think the Gran Hotel Canarias is a good choice (a place Maribel liked a lot, AC Palacio del Retiro, appears unaavailable for my date). Now I am debating whether or not to spend the extra for the great view room....!
