Luggage storage at Santa Margherita train station
We are going to be traveling from Cinque Terre to Genoa but want to stop for a few hours in Santa Margherita. I can't find any informatioin about luggage storage at the train station there. We don't want to walk around town carrying our back packs. Does anyone know if they have a checked in storage area there?

you can use this link in trenitalia to see that it doesn't. The service is called "deposito bagagli"

If it's any consolation, SML is more or less flat, so if you end up hauling your back packs around, you won't feel it so much.
It's not really my business, but I'm curious. Is there some particular reason you want to spend several hours in SML? You can do it as an easy trip from le Cinque Terre. There's not much to warrant a stop if you've just been relaxing further down the coast. It's a nice place, but it's a place to relax, like le Cinque Terre. There's not sightseeing there for most people.
If you want to do something fun, get off the train in Rapallo, walk across the street to the bus stop, and take the bus that goes from Rapallo to Recco. It's a great ride! (You'll have to change once at Ruta.) When you get to Recco, you can take a bus or train to Genova. Don't do any of this if you get car sick!

Thanks for the help. We just thought it might be fun to stop off somewhere on our way to Genoa. Maybe we'll just head to Genoa and spend the afternon there before flying home the next morning. Any suggestions on things to see in Genoa?
