Lugagge carts Barcelona airport

Hi,

I have been at the Barcelona airport but can't remember if they have lugagge carts in the departure area.

Does anybody that has been there recently know?

Thanks!

Yes, they do have luggage carts. I was there in Feb 08. The carts are pretty small though, expecting one to bring just a small carry-on.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. Just so I understand.... The carts just fit one small carry on? Why would we need a cart if that's all we had??

Yes, there were lots when we were there late last month. I remember them being a regular size, certainly capable of holding quite a few bags.

I guess I was being a bit dramatic. The luggage cart that I used at BCN is smaller than your "usual" luggage cart in the US. You won't be able to put 2-3 28" suitcases on it. But for a small carry-on and a purse, yes.

BTW, the "small" luggage carts I used were inside the security area in the departure area. I don't know if the arrival area has larger luggage carts?

hi cruiseluv,
The small carts that yk refers to are those available inside security, before passing through passport control. In the baggage claim area, after passport control, you'll find the normal size carts.
Same thing in Madrid.

Thanks, let me clarify.

My question is , when I arrive by taxi to the BCN airport for departure, do they have carts outside where I can put my lugagge (couple of suitcases) to roll them in to check-in counter?

Thanks again.

cruiseluv,
They should, just as they do in Madrid.

Yes there are carts around and they are also free. They will hold about 3 cases and have a clip to hang a handbag etc.

Just go to the places where people are departing the airport (taxi rank, blue aerobus, walkway to train) etc to find the empties. Rouss

if you donīt see one, have your taxi wait with your luggage inside the car, and pay him when you come back with a cart. just say "un momento, por favor".

otherwise, if he unloads you, and you are alone and donīt have a cart nearby you will not feel comfortable leaving your stuff for so long.
