Lucerne - Favorites

We loved our 1 day stay in Lucerne so much in 2006 that we are planning a 2 night lay over next year. Does anyone have favorite a Restaurant/cafe? I realize subjects like this are very subjective. We like all cuisines and are big wine lovers. Thanks

There are dozends of restaurants which offer good food and wine. I would recommend you just walk around and look the lists near the entrance of the restaurants which offer great food.
A specialty I like a lot is the "Älplermaggronen" on top of Stanserhorn - www.stanserhorn.ch - (go up from Stans with the historic funicular and continue the upper part with the brand now open deck cable car (cabriO).

Yes, restaurant in Des Balances is excellent. We also loved on dinner in the Wilden Mann - on a chilly, rainy night we got to sit right next to the fire.
