Dan -

That's an ambitious itinerary in a fairly short time span! This site compiles (nearly) all the budget airlines flying in Europe. It should be a helpful starting point: http://www.flybudget.com/

Easyjet, http://www.easyjet.com, ++44 870 6 000 000, fly from Luton, Stansted or Gatwick to Munich

Ryanair, http://www.ryanair.ie, ++44 870 156 9569, fly from Frankfurt to Rome

I m afraid I found no no-frills flight, but on Monday, Wednesday and Friday the Salvador Dali hotel train leaves Milan at 2000 and Genoa at 2121 and reaches Barcelona at 0901. It has sleepers, 4-berth couchettes, and a restaurant car. A connecting train with buffet car leaves Rome at 1546.

Ben Haines, London
