I am so sorry to hear of this terrible news. JJBhoy helped me out when planning my trip to Scotland last fall, and I am so grateful for his input.

If you're reading this JJBHoy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and I look forward to your return to the Fodors boards when you feel ready to come back.

Sincerely,
Melanie

Dear Fodorites, I have just received a message from our JJBhoy, Jim.

He asked me to convey that all of your kind and thoughtful posts have been read by he and his family and that your posts meant so much to all of them.

When the time is right for Jim he will post his own message but in the meantime he asked me to convey he and his family's sincere thanks for all of your kindness and care as it is truly appreciated.

Jim, you have been one of my favorite fodorites because of your warmth and humor. I've enjoyed conversing about Glasgow and of course reading your wonderful New York trip reports.

I am so sorry for your family's loss of your dear Christopher. My heart goes out to you all. I will pray for your family, that in time you will find some measure of peace.

Oh - don't know how I missed this thread when it was first posted (I was rushing about preparing for a trip at the time).

What a horrible shame. JJBhoy has been so helpful to so many fodorites. I saw a news report on-line but of course had no idea who it was about.

JJBhoy, you have all our prayers and best wishes. I am so sorry. Words do fail at times like these . . . .

JJbhoy: I just found this thread and my heart aches for you and your entire family. I cannot even imagine the pain you are going through at this horrible time. I pray that your suffering is eased with the wonderful memories that you have of your son but know that the ache will always be there. God Bless You. Jackie

Jim I am so very sorry to hear your tragic news. There is nothing that anyone can say that could make this any better, but I do pray for strength for you and your family to bear this awful heartache and all the trauma ahead too.

JJBhoy:
I share in your sorrow on the loss of your beloved son, Christopher, and hope that your family can find comfort in memories of him. There can be no loss more cruel than this. Please know that you are in so many of our thoughts.

It's always so very sad to read such tragic news, especially when the victim and offender are so young.

I hope that the memories you have of your dear son's zeal for life will buoy you and your family in the months and years to come.

I am just coming to this thread after reading Jim's thank you on the US board. Words can not express my heartfelt condolences to Jim and his family on the untimely loss of his son. I remember clearly Jim's entertaining NYC trip report and will reread it again soon.

Sending good thoughts and prayers your way, Jim.

Jim & family. I am very sorry to hear of your sons death. having lost my own son, and only child, I feel as though I know how you feel. I was blessed to have my son for 32 years. I can't imagine what I would be like if her were just a young man like your Christopher.

All you can do is take it one day at a time. God bless you all.

JJBHOY,

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I'm the mom of a 17-year-old boy, and I am so sorry to hear this terrible story.

JJBhoy

Please accept my most sincere condolences as you and your family work through this most difficult time. I hope your family will find the inner strength to work through the tumult you will be facing in the coming months.
