Loved Slovenia and Croatia where to next?

We LOVED our road trip through Slovenia and Croatia last summer. We love castles, coasts, flea markets, sidewalk dining and driving through the countryside. Where should we consider going next? Thanks.

Please write a trip report from last summer if you don't mind!

Next: Poland.

Slovenia and Croatia are great. In the future, there is more to the Balkans to see - e.g. Bosnia and Montenegro. I'm planning a trip to Bulgaria perhaps for next spring.

The things you describe are available through much of Europe, so you might make your next destination your local library, where you can look through some of the guidebooks with high quality pictures (e.g., Eyewitness, Insight, or National Geographic Travelers) to see what draws you most.

FWIW, I thought coastal parts of the Peloponnese more similar to the Dalmatian coast of Croatia than other places I've visited -- but Croatia is so varied that comparisons will undoubtedly fail. (For example, the hill towns of northern Italy would probably be more similar to Istria than anywhere else.) And Slovenia is a world unto itself; if the Jungian Alps appealed, then consider somewhere else in the Alps....

When I first joined Fodor's, I felt unpleasantly pressured to write trip reports. Please know that they are welcome, but you are welcome whether you choose to post one or not.

Your wish list is bland and available pretty much anywhere in Europe. If you could be more specific it would help narrow down the field.

Where should we consider going next?>

Just about every other European country could fit those prerequisites.

I would also appreciate a trip report, however brief. Thanks
