Louvre tour guide

We are wrapping up the details for our upcoming trip.
I would love to book a tour for the Louvre on a Friday evening.
Has anyone a guide recommendation? We arrive too late for
a museum led tour.

Can't help you on that one, but if you are desperate and have no personal recs, the Paris Tourism Office has a section with official guides registered with them. Here is one who is dual French/English citizen and says she does a couple hour Louvre tour:

Not sure if you're looking for more than this, but a couple years ago I found a very good guide on the Louvre's website ... directed us to most of the major pieces, and gave historical info. I printed it and brought it along. I think it was about 15 pages, not completely sure on that, though.

We used Michael Osman for a tour of the city in December 2006. We have also recommended him to a few friends who also had great tours with him in the past couple of years. Louvre is on the list.

You can contact Paris Walks for a private tour of the Louvre.

I loved the tour I took with Aeon Tours (www.AeonTours.com).

We ended up taking a private tour of the Louvre with them.

Our tour with Michael included about an hour in the Louvre (did our own the next day). It was interesting since he is an artist (I suppose the guiding pays better), and could thus lend some more authoritative insights.
