lourdes to CIA to naples
HI! I was wondering when I arrive in Rome at CIA airport I have to take a taxi to Roma termini correct? That should take about 35 mins. My question is do I have to go through customs or anything? I know italy and france are in the schengen countries. I am trying to see what time I should get my train ticket. If I land at 1534 could I buy tickets for a 1753 train? Or should i leave more time? I appreciate all of your help!

You have to clear passport control somewhere and it would be CIA assuming you hadn't stopped somewhere else in Schengenland first. That time would seem like rush hour to me, but I have no local knowledge. You could also find a direct bus to Termini if you have time.

If you are only coming from France you shouldnt have to do anything but retrieve your luggage. A taxi is the easiest option because any public transport requires connections. There are some shuttles such as Sitbusshuttle which operates CIA/Termini and FCO/Termini. Taxis are set fees from the airports with FCO being 48 euro and CIA being in the 30s.

Yes, I was looking for the quickest option to roma termini and I appreciate the responses. That's what I thought...coming from Lourdes, France that I should have to clear customs again. I coming from the U.S. to Paris, then flying to lourdes and then from Lourdes to CIA airport. Safe to assume 2 hours is enough time? Or should I do 2 hrs and 15 or 2 1/2 hours?

Is your final destination actually Naples or somewhere down tbe coast? There might be other options if your final destination is not Naples.
Sitbusshuttle lists their travel time as 35 minutes and cost is 5 euro so that should give you an idea of time.
There are usually at least 2 trains per hour operated by Trenitalia. There are also trains operated by Italo but not as often. Price is around 40 euro walk up fare and travel time is 70 minutes. Unless its a holiday or Friday night, you shouldnt have a problem buying a ticket at Termini for the next train. If you do that allow 15 -20 minutes to get from purchase point to tracks. Allow a bit more if you want to pop in the grocery in Termini to grab some food for the train. There are also fast food options.

I will be staying one night in Naples then traveling to Almafi. Is there another option to take? There will be 4 of us traveling.
My husband is worried about customs but I didn't think we would go through customs because we are coming from Lourdes, France. I am correct to assume this?
I figured we land by 1545 then get our bags by 1615. Then take taxi and arrive at the termini by 1715 at the latest. If we have our tickets then we can just go to the platform? Tain at 1753 or the is one 1815. I don't want to miss the train as they are non refundable and no exchange.

No customs or immigration on flights from France to Italy. Normally at least. If there is an event or if something happens they can impose controls. But normally you just walk off the plane.
On the train it assumes the airline is on time. No traffic. You don't have wait long to collect the bag.

Why are so many people obsessed or worried about "customs" wherever they fly, most people don't even know what customs is. The only place I've ever been held up by "customs" was in Mexico or returning to the US, and once at Heathrow. Customs shouldn't take any time at all at CIA even if you did have to go through it, but if you aren't trying to bring in something unusual, I don't understand the big concern about customs no matter what.

People often say customs when they mean immigration.
As a general rule, wait and buy your train tickets when you arrive at Rome Termini. That way you don't need to worry about flight delays and long waits for luggage. Or traffic jams, etc.

If you buy in advance the price will be less. If you buy on the day you'll pay the standard fee . Depending on offers that can be quite a bit more. I think Italo at the moment is running a 50% off sale. I think. But my memory wants to say that's on return tickets.
