Lopud, Croatia

Is this a day trip, or a one or two night stop over at the end of a trip? I may stay here instead of Hvar. Is there enough to do for 2 days? Thanks.

Jadrolinija's lovely old ship POSTIRA runs three or four times a day between Lopud and Dubrovnik (www.jadrolinija.hr). You can stay in Dubrovnik and make a day trip to Lopud or vice versa. Dubrovnik obviously has a lot more to see, but Lopud is quieter; both are beautiful. I think Hvar town is one of the most beautiful places anywhere. Where you want to spend two days depends on your tastes and interests.

I want to go to Hvar. I just don't have a lot of time. If I rent a car in Hvar and drive through the island and then on to Dubrovnik, how hard a trip is it. Someone online said the driving through Hvar to the ferry is difficult. Do you know?
