Looking for Boutique Hotel in Rome

My wife and I are spending three nights in Rome and were hoping to stay at a hotel that has a trendy, cool, design type of vibe. You know the drill: fashionable, good looking crowd; modern, clean interior design; and a fun aesthetic.

The search function on this board didn't turn up any threads from the past five years. So anyway, what are some cool boutique hotels in Rome?

Maybe too quiet for you (didn't see the "good looking crowd") but we loved the Portrait Suites Hotel on Via Bocca di Leone near the Spanish Steps. Gorgeous hotel refurbished by the Ferragamo family with a fabulous rooftop terrace with a small bar.

We stayed at the Raphael Hotel for 10 nights (a block from the Piazza Navona). It's a Relais & Chateau hotel with a beautiful rooftop terrace for drinks or dinner. Convenient walking location for sites and restaurants.

We stay at the de Russie every summer and I think it's just what you are looking for.

Thanks to everybody for the responses. I will look into each property. But at 1840 euro per night, Hotel de Russie is way out of my league! Pretty sure that this is due to the fact that we are booking late and they only have big suites available

I personally think the Hotel Raphael is in an ideal location, just off of the Piazza Navona. You can easily walk to many major sites from the hotel. The Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo are just across the Ponte Umberto.

hi Lindateach, do you know if Hotel Art have double glazed windows? Usually good location comes with big noises. As a light sleeper going to Rome in 3 weeks, I have done a lot of research and found it's a bit difficult to strike a balance. Many thanks!!!

xixi,
The rooms that are on the inner courtyard are supposed to be quiet-I don't know about the others. This was a hotel Samantha Brown stayed at when she went to Rome-it is very modern and colorful.

Have you tried looking at epoquehotels.com? I've stayed at several Epoque locations in Portugal and Spain, and liked each of their properties.

They list the "Rose Garden Palace Hotel" in Rome, which you can also book through the hotel's site directly & possibly cheaper. It's on Via Boncompagni, just 1 block from Via Veneto. I've placed some of my guests there and they loved it. The breakfast is fantastic as is their lunch.

The Rose Garden Palace is not in a great location for exploring Rome. It is near the Borghese Gardens, which is a big plus, but it is far from Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Colosseum, etc.

I despise the Via Veneto.
