looking for a roof top garden

We saw a segment of "This old house" a while back. Steve went to a roof top garden which he said is open to the public but is not well known. Does anyone know where this is?

Yup, Lyn, that's the "Boston Project" that they filmed about 2 years. The company I was working for at the time introduced them to "Einwood", a Japanese product, that they used for the decking.
If I'm not mistaken, they featured the Boston Project in the March or April 2001 issue. You might find it at your local library.

Interesting little mystery search. The best kind. Not really enough clues. I'm talking about trying to figure out where Lyn means, since she didn't specify the city. We still don't know if what she remembers is actually in London, nor in Boston, nor if it really was mentioned in these two web accounts from the www.thisoldhouse.com website.

An equal mystery is what kind of infantile problem do YOU HAVE - - spouting "what the hell yadda yadda yadda" anonymously!?
Go take a Valium , Rex..if you are really Rex..Rex never gets his shorts in a twist. He is too self- centered and too self -involved to question any opinion on his expertise.At least Rex never would expose himself to criticism as you have, Yadda.

Back into your cave now

Someone claiming to be Rex and defending his words, what a HOOT..Rex never uses capitals. If you are an imposter, learn the style of the person you are impersonating.

The post at 10:25 pm really is from me. And of course I use capitals.

Here's an answer I have given more than once:

===========================

Fo r what it's worth, I answer e-mails sent directly to me, but not quickly. I much prefer to see the same questions asked here - - just because I so, SO strongly support the concept. PUBLIC answers to PUBLICly asked questions help lots of people. Private answers help one person. And I like the "cross-examination" and tangential answers that often ensue.

==========================

An d another telltale sign - - is this - - my "near-trademark" use of "space-dash-space-dash-space".

Of course, now there will be a flurry of "Rex-alikes" incorporating that into silly parodies.

The mockeries are such amusing little goofball forms of flattery, in the weirdest way.

Rex Bickers, M.D.
Westerville, Ohio

and on call ("in house") tonight...
Hey-
Sorry to cause such a stir... I was saying London inside my head. You know, some times one is too close to the forest. Anyway, you are right about the "This old House" London apartment project. Thanks for all the good information.

Okay, so now I am just as intrigued as ever. Are yu saying that the apartment of these people is open to the public? (Seems unlikely) - - or was there some public rooftop garden shown as part of that particular segment?
No - the flat is not open for public tours. Just the usual This Old House padding - the couple were adding a small roof terrace so Steve runs off to the roof top garden. There was really no connection - just a sort of travelogue. The Flat is in NottingHill and the Garden is near Harrods.
