Hello,

I'll be in Barcelona this summer with my family and we are looking into Apartments. But as one of us is asthmatic, I really need to find a nonsmoking apartment or one that doesn't have that lingering smoky smell. Did any of you all have any issues with this? Can you make any recommendations. I would truly appreciate it! And in terms of location, we are open as it seems as though the metro will get you most places easily.

the apt. we rented were smoke free.

Pretty much all apartments in Barcelona are non-smoking and air conditioned, although that may be a single wall unit in one room.

It very much depends on the owner of the property, we stayed in Barcelona twice and the first apartment was non smoking and for the second one smoking was allowed, since there is a balcony. Try rental sites such as www.homeaway.com and www.alphaholidaylettings.com. I would imagine more and more self catering apartments these days are catered for non smoking travellers.

good luck with that. i'm american and living here for 4 years. the city is disgusting, EVERYONE smokes.
