Looking for a nice destination half way between Campobasso and Milan . . .
Any thoughts on this? I will have 3 kids and husband in tow. Any special place to recommend for us? We have 3 days between our arrival in Milan and our time to arrive to visit family in Campobasso. We were debating San Gimignano -- which we have been to before. Just looking for a nice half way point to break up the trip and enjoy some good food and sights.
If anyone wants to be even more specific and recommend particular accommodations that you really enjoyed that would be even BETTER!!!
THANKS!

Hi from Italy.
If you want to reduce the track, and kids like sea (and it is summertime), the best choice is the adriatic coast: http://www.riccione.it/default.asp?id=245
Romagna (Rimini, Riccione, etc) is busy but well organized and welcoming for tourists of all ages, but don't expect caraibic landscapes. Beautiful excursions inland are possible anyway (San Marino, Santarcangelo) and the charming Ravenna with its mosaics is not far. If they like this kind of fun, youngers could enjoy in one of the most famous italian parks for children, Mirabilandia: http://www.mirabilandia.it/
IMHO the best sea in this area is Cape Conero, close to Ancona: http://www.parcodelconero.com/index_eng.html
You can find good accomodation in Sirolo or Numana, and enjoy walking through the Conero park and swimming into clear waters; Marche is one of my favourite italian regions: not so internationally famous as Tuscany, but almost equally nice: beautiful countryside, pictoresque villages, unforgettable food. http://www.turismo.pesarourbino.it/en.html
If you especially enjoy art and history, I suggest one place over all: Urbino. http://www.turismo.pesarourbino.it/e...tta-darte.html
If you need more help, feel free to ask me. And sorry for my english...

If you choose the Marche area, consider also a visit to the Frasassi Caves: http://www.frasassi.com/index.php?lang=2
