London to Bakewell
Hi all!
I am planning a trip in the Fall to go see the Peak District, Chatsworth House, and Haddon Hall. We will not have a car. Looking for recommendations for the best way to get there from London, where to stay, and the best way to get around once there. We are also considering going to The Roaches depending on the convenience of getting there. Thanks for any advice you may have.
Kind Regards,
Helen

If having a car for even a couple of days is out of the question, consider looking into a tour of the area. Either way try to include Eyam, the plague village, & Hardwick Hall, also nearby and architecturally revolutionary in it's time. A car, though I realize there are personal reasons not to have one & I avoid them when possible, would help greatly with the task of getting around in the countryside & may be very time-consuming without, unless taxis are a possibility.
