London-Ridgemount hotel

I've looked on the message board and any info on this hotel is 2 years old. A lot can change about a hotel in two years. Has anyone stayed here recently? This hotel is located on Gower St. It's pretty cheap and the reviews are a little mixed. I'm a woman who will be traveling alone and I'm pretty sure this area is safe, but if anyone knows otherwise.. .

Any info is appreciated. I've always received excellent advice from this board.

Beany

What neighborhood is Gower St. in? I was just in London but don't remember that street. Might be able to help with a neighborhood, though, even though I don't know the hotel specifically.

Have not stayed there in the past year and a half but it was perfectly adequate. Gower Street is busy so ask for a room in the back. When I stayed there, there was a laundry service which could came in handby. The Arosfa Hotel just a couple of doors down is also in the same $$ range and perhaps nicer. Its non-smoking and the owner, Mr. Dorta might be a little guy but he doesn't take kindly to smoking and excessive noise and will deal with anyone who tries either. The place is immaculate.
Kaudry, Gower Street is in Bloomsbury and the hotels above are just steps away from Bedford Square. Nearest tube is Goodge Street.

Thanks for the advice. The Asfora sounds great, but I'm being silly about the bathroom. I don't care if I have to share shower facilities, but I hate going down the hall if I have to "go" in the middle of the night. Silly, I know, but there you are.

Beany
