This offer sounds really good.

Oops! I posted this info to you in a reply on your londontrainsoffer thread I just did an analysis and this might be worthwhile for me for a 3 day pass. Just tried to see what the total price would be online but I received an error message. The price quoted is exclusive of the 17.5% tax. However, if you get 2 adult passes for the price of 1, it should be worth it. Susan

Here's an update. I just purchased 2 adult passes for the price of 1. Even with the tax added, it's cheaper than buying all the attractions that I want separately. Rather than pay for express shipping, I'm picking up the passes at the Britain Visitors Centre on Regent Street. Thanks for the tip on this one. I had been holding out for some discounts. I leave in 14 days! Susan

Susan, Thanks for responding. My trip is in August. The offer indicates that the purchase should be completed by July 16th. I am hoping that means I can buy it now but use it in August.

I also got an error in the webpage. So did you order yours by phone?
Thanks!

generally speaking the London Pass is not a very good deal nor very useful for most visitors. So getting them at 1/2 price makes them a better deal but does nothing to make them more useful. All of the major museums and galleries are free and many of the top tier attractions that do charge are not covered by the London Pass. And the small meal discounts are mostly for restaurants I wouldn't go to even at 1/2 price.

I wouldn't bother -- even at 1/2 price . . . .

Janis, the london pass covers the Tower of London which is 13.50 pounds. And the one day card is 23 pounds. So that is like a 4 pound saving for 2 ppl. And I am also hoping I will be able to save on other attractions like Hampton Court, Windsor, Globe Theater etc with a pass for a longer duration. Without a 2 for 1 offer it is not a good value though.

Jand and Janis, I calculated the attractions I wanted separately and the price was about 5 pounds more for the Pass when you included the tax. That was for 1 pass. So, getting the 2nd one free, really does save me money. I wouldn't have bought the Pass if I wasn't getting one for free. Susan

Jand, I forgot to answer your other question. I did buy it by telephone this morning. They told me that their website wasn't working... Susan

Susan,
One more question - did you buy the pass with or without the transport option? The offer was not clear about which one was covered. Thanks!

Jand, I bought it without transport since I had previously bought visitor travelcards on www.ticket-on-line.com. I have the actual travelcard not a voucher. I was convinced early on that the London Pass was not worth it until the 2-1 offer. You can buy the 2 for 1 with transport. I can't recall if they sell only an all zone card for travel. If so, that's not worth it. You'll probably only need zones 1 and 2. susan

As long as you are working out the costs - you should look at the Great British Heritage Pass. A four-day GBHP is only $35 (that's dollars not £ ) and they sometimes even run specials on that price. It covers the Tower, Tower Bridge, Hampton Court Palace, Windsor, St Pauls, Kensington Palace, Greenwich, Stonehenge and LOTS of others. If you are getting a pass of any sort that one is more economical for most visitors.

Great idea, Janis. I may have made a mistake but I'm ok with it for the 2 for 1 since I know the Pass was cheaper than waiting to purchase at each attraction. Perhaps, the GHP would have been a better option. Jand, I hope all this helps you make the right decision. Susan

If you're planning to visit the Tower of London, the one-day pass at 2-for-1 is a break-even proposition (£13.50 for adults, £9 for children). So whatever else you use it for is gravy.
