We are looking at an aparthotel in London. Is Knightsbridge a good area? The place is lovely and has concierge service. I was worried that there wasn’t enough around there except high end restaurants and pubs. Any advice? Beaufort Gardens 45 is the address. Thank you so much for any help!

Depends on what you mean by 'good'. Knightsbridge is one of the very 'up-est' of upscale neighborhoods. Its the home of Harrods and Harvey Nichols and quite a few Michelin stars.. But tons of 'regular' restaurants and cafes too. Heck - there is a MacDonalds practically on your doorstep But honestly I never worry about restaurants being that close to my accommodations because one is usually out an about every day and evening so you could be eating anywhere . . .

It is on the direct tube line in from LHR. And an easy 7 or 8 minute walk from the V&A.

Beaufort House (the name of the exact bldg) is maybe a 2 minute walk from Harrods.

Of greater concern to me would be distance to places you want to visit while in London, and ease of getting there. So, say you look at a detailed map of London streets and you mark the places that are high on your 'want to visit ' list. Then check where your apartment is.

What is transport like between these? Easy walk, 30 mins by tube, taxi only as it's easier for you. If only staying for one or two nights, it doesn't matter that much but for a longer stay, well worth thinking about.

I like the looks of your Aparthotel and neighborhood very much. The nearest underground station seems to be about an 8 minute walk. If I were returning to London soon, I would definitely consider staying at that accommodation.

It is a 5 minute walk from the Knightsbridge tube station (Piccadilly Line) and from there two stops to Green Park (Jubilee & Victoria lines) and one stop to South Kens (Circe and District lines) plus several bus routes on Brompton Rd so getting around wouldn't be a problem at all. Its a 8 or 10 minute walk from Hyde Park,

(I'm not advocating staying in Knightsbridge particularlly -- but if its a flat the OP likes and fits in the budget -- it is a totally reasonable location)

Good location, you have hyde park 10min walk and central london only a few tube stops away to do touristy things or you can go the other way and hang out with the locals of areas like battersea or fulham. It's a great central location but not too over crowded with tourists.

It really is a very busy area. Being midway between Harrods and the V&A, this section of Brompton Road is Tourist Central.

I hesitated to comment because that was my first thought about the location. I like quieter areas.

I know my preference is partly based on staying many times in a flat owned by the company I worked for back in the '70s, '80s, early '90s... I like Mayfair near the Green Park underground station. I really can't stand Harrod's.

Somehow I had originally missed babs5423's comment - probably didn't need to respond but it just seemed sort of weird. As I mentioned in post #5 above, I wasn't really advocating Knightsbridge, merely describing the location. However -- IF it the OP likes the look of the flat and it fits the budget -- I am also not advocating renting esewhere. The bldg it is in is quite posh and I can't imagine it would be noisy. There would be a lot worse places to stay.

Knightsbridge is one of my favorite area in London.
