There are many posts about things closed during certain seasons or months. I never thought about that as an issue when traveling but will keep it in mind when I plan future trips. Thanks again for all the helpful responses!

That is only true of really rural areas like northern Scotland, and some castles, stately homes and themeparks out in the countryside. Absolutely nothing to do w/ London at all. Don't give it another thought. Things in London just don't close because of the season --- Honest.

(Flanneruk and Bella-Bluebell live in London, and the others who disputed scottvan's comments have lived in the UK and/or travel there very frequently.)

Lisa, fortune favors the brave! Get a move on those plane reservations. Hit your parents up if you are a little short of cash!

Try British Airways Special Offers -- www.ba.com. Click on Special Offers, then Current Offers, then Exclusive Offers. Click on the Great Offers button. You will need to register to receive special offers, but right now you can get round trip airfare from Tampa to London for around $400!!! and, this is a direct flight. The seats are limited and the offer expires 11/14/05. Enjoy!

I went to London last year from March 13-20. I took a Virgin Atlatic flight through Virgin Vacations. I paid 449, about 600 total with taxes for RT air/6 nights hotel and breakfasts. Everything was open and nothing was crowded, walked right into Tower of London and about 5 minutes to get on the London Eye. The weather was fabulous. Although from what I read we might have been lucky. I had brought a wool pea coat and took it off and carried it for 3 of the days.
Had such a great time I booked Italy this March.

Lisa,
Don't wait too long to lock up the tickets because the cheap seats sell out early.

Elaine,

If you don't mind, I'd like to get a copy of that file. I'll send you an email.
