The Meridien has a terrific offer right now thru londontown.com for only 99 pounds a night just til the end of Jan.02. I think you can book it on their home website too. I've never stayed there, but its a five-star, how bad could it be?

WHY ARE ALL YOU PEOPLE SHOUTING LIKE THIS??
Don't you realize that it is much calmer and easier to read a normally written post instead of one all shouted in Caps???? Or do your computers not have a release for the Caps lock key?
Michele, what hotel did you book through Londontown and what was the rate you got? What kind of help did they give you other than the hotel?

Michelle and Maryann,

You probably do not realize that according to "netiquette", typing in all caps is the equivalent of shouting. Those who frequent boards and chats can be sensitive about this, hence the strong response..

Have a wonderful trip, and keep posting!

I don't think it is particularly nice to be so outspoken about someone writing in CAPS. there is a nice way of saying something. we all don't know that caps mean shouting!!!!!

I have stayed at all 3 hotels and would
recommend the Intercontinental. Much as
I love the location and health club at the Meridien, it has some of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever seen in London. The Intercontinental's rooms
are bigger, airier and in better condition. I had a good stay at the Hilton too, in a large room with a spectacular view. If the Meridient were less expensive it would be ideal, but the value is just not there, given the near-squalor of so many of its rooms.

Saw your comment on the LeMeridien Grosvenor. We have reservations to stay there in a few months and I was dismayed by the comment that the rooms were small and in bad shape...I had heard that the rooms were large from my travel agent. Does anyone else have a comment about this hotel?

We have reservations at the Grosvenor house in March and our travel agent also told us that the rooms were large-especially because we are traveling with our daughter.

Regardless of the fact that the Jan. sales are nearing their end, there are still plenty of people traveling to London who may wish to find a good deal on hotel accomodations.

XXX: If you have nothing useful to add to this discussion, then you may simply read and NOT speak.
