I've walked up a hill to get to Flamsteed House. Most of the rest of it is flat, but the observatory sits up higher.

Yes the observatory is about 500 ft higher up. It's not a mountain!

We will be travelling to london in winter.

Is the British Museum at walking distance to the london eye?

It would take half an hour or so to walk it; a bit quicker by bus from Southampton Row. The bus route map here will help you place attractions in relation to each other and public transport:

BTW, it's a very invigorating walk and you will pass a lot of interesting things. If you have the time, I'd walk it. I usually do...

Sabrina21: You need to 1) get a map of London - every book shop w/ a travel section has them; and 2) start a new thread instead of tacking on to a 3 year old one since not everyone will notice your post at the bottom

It is walkable - but it is a long (and likely damp/cold) way.
