Hi, me and my husband have decided to go to London and Scotland in June from 22nd June to 1st July 2017.
we have planned like this:
Day 1: London City
Day 2: Windsor + stonehenge + Bath
Day 3: Oxford
Day 4: we will travel to Windermere and will explore lake district
Day 5: Ambleside and Windermere
Day 6: we will travel to Edinburgh and will explore the city
Day 7: Fort Williams (how to travel)
Day 8: Inverness
Day 9: Back to Edinburgh

this is just a structure that we have decided to cover the places.

Please tell us how to travel to save time and does this plan looks feasible?
this will be our first visit to UK.

1) "London city"... "London" is a big place inside of which is "the city of London" which is small place with some of the tourist spots people go to. For London one day is kinda crazy, but your plan.
2) Day 2 is a long day, it will be light to late, but you may get a bit exhausted.
3) day 3 ok, taking a tour or the bus or the train?
4) Day 7 and 8, out of all the lovely towns in Scotland why Fort William and Inverness? Do you have family connections?

So Edingburgh to Fort William takes about 5 hours by public transport, Ed to Inv takes about 3 1/2 hours.

You might find a tour of Scotland is a better use of your time

You have not accounted for your travel time. Planning is easier if you think in terms of nights (where you will stay) instead of days.

Your title is wrong -- are not visiting London at all really.

If you arrive on 'Day 1' you will have about half of one jet lagged day to just see maybe something near your accommodations and then spend the next 2 days outside the city.

You also will have virtually no time in Edinburgh.

Your trip is really not feasible.

Also, sorry -- but Fort William and Inverness are not very nice places to stay (Inverness is the nicer of the two)

London and Edinburgh would be doable (JUST London and Edinburgh). Then you could take one day tour out of each city.

As it is you will spend more time on trains than actually in any place.

No, it looks like hell.

You will spend more time in transit between places than actually touring or experiencing the sites you want to visit.

It's feasible in terms of can you cover the distance in the time available. The question is whether it is advisable. The answer to that is, not at all. All you are doing is moving. You are not going to spend any significant amount of time IN any of the places you list.

To write that on day 6 for example, you will drive from Windermere to Edinburgh and then, " will explore the city", is ridiculous. You can 'tick the name of your list' that way but you cannot say you will 'explore the city' in any meaningful way.

Your plan is entirely a list tickers plan, it is not a plan to actually visit anywhere.

You have enough time to do a fairly decent visit to London, Bath and the Cotswolds OR to Edinburgh and some of Scotland OR to London and Edinburgh.

I do like that you're not intending to spend all your time in London--the best parts of the UK are outside the major cities IMO, so I'd probably choose, say, three days in London and the rest outside (Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath, Oxford and the Cotwolds.)
