Lodging in Provence
We will be spending 4 days of our honeymoon in Provence and are looking for lodging recommendations. Budget per night is EUR 150 - EUR 200 (or less if still nice). We will likely be touring around the Luberon, St-Remy, and would like to check out some of the Cote du Rhone wineries.
We love food, wine, quaint towns, and beautiful scenery (going mid-Oct.). So, we'd also appreciate any recommendations on MUST sees and do's.
We realize 4 days is not much but we'll be coming back if we love it (hopefully when lavendar is in bloom). So, don't need to see everything this trip. Just the highlights.

this is one of my favorite places that sits on the edge of a favorite village.

We stayed and enjoyed Hotel Les Ateliers de L’Image in St. Remy. What's great about it is that it is right on the Main St. in downtown St. Remy, yet it has parking and a beautiful parklike setting complete with pool behind the hotel. If that's not enough, it has a room complete with a tree house!
St. Remy is a great base in Provence. Staying in town was much more happening than staying outside of town.
Best of luck!

This B&B is in a good location and owned by delightful people-

Also, I stayed in an apartment in the village of Lourmarin last Oct/Nov and loved the town. A great selection of shops and restaurants, yet still small and charming. Here is where I stayed (the website has very good info on the town and area)-

You might want to search the slowtrav reviews for more options-

Finally, I highly recommend this guide for the area-

We stayed at a charming inn in St. Remy a few years ago, Hotel Sous Les Figuiers, http://www.hotel-charme-provence.com/en/index.html. The rooms have private terraces overlooking a lovely garden with fig trees.
There is a wonderful market on Wed. where we bought yummy bread, cheese, olives, etc. and spent the afternoon on the terrace enjoying the treats and a few figs from the nearby tree.
St. Remy is a great location for touring the area and the town itself offers many good restaurants, shops, and charming streets for strolling. If you are a Van Gogh fan, St. Paul de Mausolee, where he spent his last year, is within walking distance.

We stayed in this charming hotel in St. Remy. It's just a five minute walk into town. The hotel has beautiful grounds and a pool and although we didn't have any of our meals there, I understand the restaurant is excellent.
Try to be in St. Remy on market day -- it's wonderful!

OK, we were in St Remy two weeks ago. Although the town is ideally located for day trips, we did not find the town cute or charming or anything like that. We found it a little bit gritty, not of particular interest. Perhaps there are more charming towns in Provence than St. Remy - but our group of 5 was singularly unimpressed.

We stayed at a gorgeous B&B in Pernes les Fontaines. We found Pernes to be very centrally located to everything as we went northerly up the wine route to Vaison la Romaine, seeing Seguret and Gigondas on the way back "home, easterly to Bonnieux, Menerbes, Gordes, Roussillon (A MUST!), southerly to L'Isle sur la Sorgue (Sunday market is FABULOUS!), and westerly we visited St. Remy on Wednesday for their market. We also visited other towns/villages, but we had 8 days.
The owner of the B&B is American so there was no language problem. www.lelavandinprovence.com. Georgia is the consummate hostess and her breakfasts are wonderful! She would map out after breakfast where we were going that day and we had no problems with the driving. We bought rotisserie chickens from the markets, salad makings, cheese, wine, etc., etc., and would dine by candlelight on the terrace. Life was good!
The grounds (as you will see from her website) are gorgeous in the summer months and I'm sure fall is also spectacular.
Enjoy! This area is my second favorite on the earth, with Paris being first! However, there's only a hair between 1st and 2nd!

One of my favorite hotels in the world is L'hotel Particulier (http://www.hotel-particulier.com) in Arles. We thought Arles was a good base for touring Provence and that Arles itself was very picturesque.

Adding to my reply above, and because you mentioned loving food and wine, there is a wonderful restaurant in Arles that receives many accolades: L’Atelier de Jean-Luc Rabanel. We did not eat there when we visited because we had our then 9 year old daughter with us, but we have friends who have eaten there and loved it.

We, too, stayed at Le Mas Perreal - I would stay there, again, in a heartbeat. The hosts were incredibly kind, location was ideal, and the price was great value for the money. Hope this helps...
I, too, am not a fan of St. Remy - the small towns with views and more ambience are more our thing.

Uzes was our fave in the area, which we've visited twice. Smallish town. My LW was and is utterly charmed with it. This hotel turned out well:
